A qualifying four-year or higher degree in real estate can provide an education exemption, but a degree called real estate finance needs DBPR's transcript evaluation rather than an assumption based on its title.
DBPR's degree-exemption FAQ tells applicants to submit an official transcript with the application. It also makes an important distinction: an education exemption does not remove the application or state examination requirements.
A general finance or business degree with a few property-related electives should not automatically be treated as a real estate degree. Equally, an applicant should not decide that a specialized degree is disqualified merely because the wording on the diploma differs. The official record and DBPR's evaluation are what matter.
For example, two applicants may both have studied property valuation. One completed a real estate degree; the other took one valuation elective in a broader finance program. That shared subject alone does not establish that their licensing exemptions will be identical.
The Commission's education page also lists a qualifying real estate degree exemption for post-license education. Ordinary continuing education is a separate requirement, not automatically waived by the degree.
