FLORIDA REAL ESTATE SALES ASSOCIATE COURSE

Brokerage Offices and Branch Requirements

Section 7 of 31

To have an Active Status license, a broker must establish a physical office location and register it with the DBPR (Department of Business and Professional Regulation). Until the broker registers that office, the license is technically not ready for business. The Brokerage Sign - Florida law is very specific about what must be on the front door (or lobby area) of an office. This isn't just for marketing; it's for consumer protection. The public needs to know exactly who they are dealing with. The office sign MUST contain these three elements:Trade Name: If the company uses a trade name (like "Sunshine Realty"), it must be at the top.Broker's Name: The name of the actual individual broker must be listed. (e.g., "John Smith").The Title: The words "Licensed Real Estate Broker" (or "Lic. Real Estate Broker") must appear.Note: If you have sales associates working there, their names can be on the sign, but they must be below the broker's name and separated by a line or distinct gap so people don't confuse them with the broker.
