Planning, Zoning And Environmental Hazards

Section 33 of 34

Mold is a fungus that grows in damp environments and can cause respiratory issues and allergic reactions. It is not an isolated problem but rather a symptom of a moisture problem, such as a roof leak, plumbing failure, or high humidity. While there are no federal standards for permissible mold levels, the presence of significant mold growth is a "red flag" for buyers and insurers. The only effective way to remediate mold is to identify and stop the source of the moisture.
