Do not assume fingerprints submitted for another job or profession can be transferred to your Florida real estate application. DBPR says separate submissions are required for different licensing professions or agencies.
Its fingerprint-sharing FAQ explains that the results are not freely shared between agencies and professions. The destination matters as well as the person being checked.
This distinction can feel frustrating when the previous appointment was recent. However, having the same fingerprints does not mean the real estate licensing authority has an authorized result attached to the correct application. A receipt for an unrelated background check is therefore not enough to mark the real estate requirement complete.
Before making an appointment:
For example, a person who recently completed a community-association-manager background check should not assume that payment also covers a later real estate sales associate application.
Keep each receipt labeled with the profession and application it belongs to. That makes a missing-results inquiry much easier to explain. Our license qualifications guide places the background check alongside the other application requirements.
