How do I calculate vacancy and occupancy without mixing them up?
Staff Q&A from the 63Hours team.
Divide vacant units by total units for vacancy, and occupied units by total units for occupancy. If 8 of 80 available units are vacant, vacancy is 10% and occupancy is 90%. These are simple physical unit measures. A report measuring lost rental income may produce a different figure, so identify what is being measured before comparing percentages.
