Planning, Zoning And Environmental Hazards

Section 13 of 34

Agricultural zoning preserves land for farming, ranching, and forestry. These zones typically require very large minimum lot sizes (e.g., 5 or 10 acres per unit) to prevent residential subdivisions from encroaching on farmland and to protect the rural economy.Special Use Zoning: This classification is for properties that benefit the public but don't fit neatly into the other categories. "Special Use" (or Public) zoning covers schools, courthouses, libraries, parks, and sometimes hospitals.
