The Truth in Lending Act (TILA) is a federal law designed to protect consumers by ensuring they are fully aware of the costs of borrowing money. It is implemented through a specific set of rules known as "Regulation Z." Whenever you hear "Regulation Z" in real estate, you should immediately think of truth in lending and cost disclosure.
