License Law And Commission Rules

Section 12 of 15

Keeping your license alive is a game of "feed it or lose it." You have to feed it education every two years. If you starve it, it goes inactive. If you starve it for too long, it dies (Null and Void). But sometimes, life happens, and the FREC gives you options.Renewal Requirements - Once you are past your initial post-licensing renewal, the rules settle into a steady rhythm. The Cycle - Every 2 years (on March 31 or Sept 30), you must renew. You must complete 14 Hours of Continuing Education (CE) which consists of 3 hours of Core Law (updates on rules), 3 hours on Ethics and Business Practices. The remaining 8 hours are Specialty Credits, like property management, green homes, etc. You pay the renewal fee to the DBPR.
