Section 65 of 72
Under ECOA, lenders cannot discriminate against the source of an applicant's income. This means they cannot refuse to consider reliable income just because it comes from alimony, child support, public assistance programs, or part-time employment. As long as the income is stable and likely to continue, it must be treated with the same weight as a standard salary.
